At Home Learning Links and Information for Middle School Language Arts
Each student has already been logged in and signed up for the three websites I am using for the duration of the school closure. Emails will be sent out each week outlining the expectations for that week and will also be posted daily on the individual google classrooms.
Khan Academy Grammar
In addition to the three online websites, students are expected to read a class book, which was sent home with their chromebooks. They are expected to give their thoughts and ideas on each chapter on google classroom, responding to their classmates thoughts and ideas as needed. Every 3-6 chapters they will have study guide questions to answer (this will be done in a google document).
All work is due online no later than Friday at 5pm the week it was assigned.
Students who picked up their chromebooks were also given a manila envelope containing the schedule and paper copies of everything needed for off-line work.
- In place of Khan Academy, grammar worksheets have been provided to cover a range of topics.
- Copies of the Newsela articles that are assigned online have also been provided in paper format.
- Students working offline are still expected to read their book and answer the study guide questions (on paper), though they are exempt from the online classroom discussions.
All work should be turned in weekly to the school, to be picked up by myself Thursday afternoon.
