Families are invited to join us this Thursday after school from 4-4:30P in the Aux Gym and see the amazing projects our students have been working on! Come celebrate creativity, curiosity, and hard work as students showcase their scientific thinking. We hope to see you there!
January Middle & High School Newsletter
January is School Board Appreciation Month, and we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Sierra Grande School District Board of Education. We proudly recognize Walter Roybal, Ramon Garcia, Eric Martinez, Cassandra Taylor, and Emerald Tamada for their leadership, dedication, and commitment to our students, staff, and community. Your service and thoughtful guidance help shape a strong future for our schools, and we are grateful for the time and care you give to ensure student success today and every day.
Folklorico practice is cancelled for today, Wednesday, January 14th.
The next food pantry distribution will take place next Wednesday, Jan. 14th. Please make sure to return any bags to Ms. Alex by Tuesday. See flyer for more information.
The Board of Education will hold a Regular School Board Meeting Wednesday, January 14th at 6:00PM in the Innovation Lab. Board meetings are open to the public and are encouraged to attend.
Adventure Vision will be at the school on Tues., January 13th and Wed., January 14th. They will be doing free eye exams and prescribing free glasses. Students will be sent home with the needed paperwork, this must be returned by Monday, January 12th. You can also register your child online with the QR code in the packet being sent home. Eye exams are optional for students, and will not be conducted without the signed consent from.
4-H Recruitment Night, January 21st. Please RSVP to carol.gurule@colostate.edu or call 719-852-7381 by January 19th. Childcare will be available for children 5 and under. Dinner will be served, and this is free to everyone in attendance.
Kindergarten had their annual alphabet fashion show! They did a great job! Thank you parents for your support with costumes and participation! It was a hit!
The Sierra Grande School District would like to congratulate our Pre-K staff for receiving a very high score on their ECERS 3 evaluation. This is a major evaluation that happens every 3 years. It is very difficult to receive a high rating. The staff have put in a great deal of time and work to make this happen. Our students are lucky to have such amazing teachers. Ms. Cepeda, Ms. Hicks, Ms. Miller and Ms. Jones, thank you for all of your hard work. Great Job Ladies!
Reminder: There will be early release tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 18th at 1pm. Busses will run their usual routes beginning at 1:05pm. Please make plans accordingly and have a great Winter Break Panthers!

Yesterday, our Sierra Grande students got a surprise visit from the one and only Grinch! Smiles, laughter, and a little holiday mischief filled the halls as he stopped by to spread some unexpected cheer. Thank you to everyone who helped make this festive moment so special for our students, it’s safe to say the Grinch’s heart grew three sizes yesterday!
