Sierra Grande School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate one-on-one paraprofessional to provide support to a student with specific needs throughout the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year. The successful candidate will work
directly with the student to provide academic and behavioral support in the classroom environment, assist with daily activities, and help foster an inclusive and positive learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualized support to a student with specific educational, behavioral, or physical needs. Assist the student with completing assignments, following instructions, and participating in classroom activities. Monitor and document the student's progress and communicate effectively with the teacher, parents, and other educational
staff. Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) or other specialized plans as directed by the teacher or school staff. Help the student with mobility, self-care, or other daily routines as necessary. Support social integration by encouraging positive interactions with peers. Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for the student.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required), additional education or training in special education, child development, or a related field preferred. Experience working with children with special needs or in a school setting is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Patience, compassion, and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
Must pass a background check and any other required screenings.

Our next community event is coming up in February. Join us for Sierra Grande's Day of Love, Feb 5th from 6PM-8PM. Community pot luck, art activities and make your own valentines! We hope to see you there!

The next Board of Education meeting will be held Wednesday, January 29th at 6:00PM in the Innovation Lab. Board meetings are open to the public and are encouraged to attend.

The Middle School will be having their Spelling Bee Qualifying match next Monday, Jan 27th at 3PM. Parents are encourage to come and support your student! The top 10 move on to Regionals at ASU in February.
